Alongside the new Lynnwood Light Rail Station slated to open in 2024, planned upcoming improvements to foot and bike traffic routes include sidewalk expansions along 196th, near Lynnwood Elementary, and 48th for pedestrians and new buffered bike lanes along 188th and 179th.

This is only the top of the list of all planned improvements over the next 15 years for safe, easy pedestrian transit.

PUBLIC SPACES
& PARKS

Several of our local parks including Interurban Trail, Veterans Park, and Scriber Creek Trail will be renovated to route more safely to the new light rail station and be easier to access and use for exploration and commutes alike.

Scriber Lake, only a mile away, will add a new boardwalk and two wildlife viewpoints on the shore of the lake. Once completed, you may spot resident river otters or beavers!

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENTS

Structural improvements have enhanced key locations in Lynnwood including rebuilding Spruce Elementary, expanding Alderwood Mall, extending Poplar Way Bridge, and improving Beech Road access.

Alderwood Mall expansions brought a new Shake Shack to join 20+ restaurants in the mall. The best part? Shake Shack has a drive-through too!

LONG TERM GROWTH

Improvements aren’t a one-time upgrade, but part of a plan to constantly improve life in Lynnwood which strives to be a pedestrian city with more interconnected parks for walkers and bikers.
